Skrivex ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use our website and services.

By using Skrivex, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Account data: If you sign in (via Google or email), we collect your name, email address, and profile image as provided by your identity provider.

Newsletter subscriptions: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and the date of subscription.

Push notifications: If you enable push notifications, we store your browser's push subscription endpoint and encryption keys. We do not store any personal identifiers alongside this data.

Usage data: We collect anonymised analytics data such as page views, referrer URLs, and browser type to understand how the Service is used. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Contact form: If you contact us, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide solely to respond to your enquiry.

Cookies: We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session if you are signed in. We may also use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) if you have not opted out. We do not use advertising cookies for targeting purposes.

To deliver the Service: session management, bookmarks, reading history, and personalised features.

To send the newsletter: we use your email address to send the weekly digest you subscribed to. Each email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

To send push notifications: we use your push subscription to deliver breaking news alerts you have opted into. You can revoke permission at any time in your browser settings.

To improve the Service: anonymised usage analytics help us understand which features are working and what to build next.

To respond to enquiries: contact form submissions are used solely to reply to your message.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party processors to operate the Service:

— Resend: email delivery for newsletters and contact form responses.

— Cloudinary: image hosting and delivery.

— Upstash: rate limiting via Redis.

— Google Analytics (optional): anonymised usage analytics. You may opt out via browser extensions or by disabling cookies.

— Railway / Supabase / Vercel (infrastructure): hosting and database.

Each processor is bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data to provide the service we have contracted them for.

Newsletter subscriptions: retained until you unsubscribe, at which point your record is marked inactive. You may request full deletion by emailing privacy@skrivex.com.

Account data: retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

Contact form messages: retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.

Analytics data: retained in aggregated, anonymised form indefinitely.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@skrivex.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and access controls.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@skrivex.com.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Material changes will be announced via a notice on the homepage or, where appropriate, by email to newsletter subscribers.
